Take this, take that
In English class we started a book called “Esperanza Rising” and in one of the chapters that we read Esperanza’s house was on fire and she had to think quickly what to take in a small backpack. If my house caught on fire I would take the following things.
I would take my album of pictures of my family in California and in Spain and of my friends in Spain, California and in Qatar. The pictures that I take are mostly where we are all having a great time and we are all tight together and hugging, kissing or playing. I would take that so I can remember the people that I care and love and that we spent good and happy times together and also because those pictures are not going to be able to happen again and we can’t replace them. We can’t go into the past and take the pictures again so that is the first thing that I would take.
The second thing that I would take is my stuffed animal, he is a small bear, about arms length long. His color is banana yellow, with a small, snow white and sky blue ribbon. I used to take it everywhere I went. I also slept with him so I wouldn’t have any nightmares and he would be always by my side and take care of me. We had good times together playing tea partys and all kinds of games. His name is Mr. Berry. I still have him in my bedroom but now the color is turned into a lighter lemon yellow and his nose has strings hanging from it but he is still in good condition. I love Mr.Berry very much because I’ve had him since I can remember but he is very special for me because one of my favorite uncles gave him to me. My uncle is skinny and tall and he now lives in China. I love him very much because we spend good times together. Mr.Berry is IRREPLACEABLE him so I can remember my uncle.
The third thing that I would take is my diary. I write every day in it so I can remember what I did or what happend each day at school or outside of school. My diary is light pink with three hearts in the middle. This diary was given to me on my 12 birthday by my parents in California with my grand parents. If I don’t take my diary I will loose all my memories of when I was a kid so that way when I grow up I will remember. It means a lot to me.
And those are the three special things that I would take if my house was on fire.
What would you take if your house caught on fire?

Great post. I love your intro sentence. Perfect way of setting up what is coming for the reader. I am also very proud of you for taking the time to write down the details and really put some thought into this post.
You are right that our memories are irreplaceable and it is impossible to go back to the past. What are some other ways we can cherish our memories?
Good description of Mr. Berry! Perhaps you could send this blog post to your uncle and have him share his memories of Mr. Berry as well. Just cut and paste the URL and email it to him.
Very well written piece. Keep up the good work!
